Great news for our Catholic friends

You are here

First of all, we want to remind you how much God loves you and He wants you to learn how to deepen your personal relationship with Him.

St. Peters Basilica

God has over the years has introduced many great programs to the Catholic Church and very few people have responded to His effort.
Many of these programs have been introduced through the Charismatic ministries of the Catholic Church.  Due to the fact that not all of the churches have had the Charismatic programs, the people at those churches would not be aware of all that is available to them.

There are many great books and study guides like, Finding New Life in the Spirit, that was printed and circulated in 1972.  These can be checked at your Bible Book Store and the ISBN number is, 0-89283-001-8.

Many other attempts have been made to get the attention of the Catholic people to help them become aware that their Heavenly Father and their Lord and Savior Jesus Christ want a personal relationship with them as an individual.

Since most of you have a Catholic approved Bible in your home we can share with you some of the Great information God has for you. Please open your Bible to the index.

First, you will find that your Bible is divided into two parts, the Old Testament and the New Testament. The Old Testament describes the creation of the earth, the creation of man and the many covenants that God had made with man and, as always, how man broke his side of the covenants.

The Old Testament also includes the prophecies concerning the 1st coming of the Messiah, God’s Son, who is our Savior.

During the Old Testament time God chose a people and He gave them instructions and provision to live a life that would be very noticeable to the other nations that they were set apart and serving the one and only true God. This nation called Israel failed as humans fail; the people wanted to “do their own thing” and live their lives the way they wanted to.

The Israelites are a basic example of human nature which means, all of us want to do what we want to do.

Our friend, here is the GREAT NEWS for you. Throughout the Old Testament, God was preparing a way for you to receive eternal life. There are more than 300 prophecies in the Old Testament predicting the first coming of God’s son Jesus Christ. These prophecies told of the virgin birth, Jesus’ ministry, His arrest and beating by the Roman soldiers, then His crucifixion on the cross and finally, on the third day, Jesus arose from the grave. I Corinthians 15:1

All of these prophesies of Jesus’ first coming and the crucifixion and the resurrection were fulfilled in every detail in the New Testament.

While Jesus was hanging on the cross He said, “It is finished” just before He died. What that statement means to us is, that everything that God requires for us to be cleansed from sin and to be made into right standing with Himself was completed with Jesus fulfilling all of the prophecies concerning Him in the Old Testament.

Now would you look at the New Testament? This is where the GREAT NEWS is for you. It begins with the four gospels, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John. The gospel of Luke has a more descriptive presentation of the virgin birth of Jesus, God’s only begotten son. The gospel of John is the more intimate gospel because Jesus is laying out the Father’s heart so that we can see how much God loves us. In the 17th chapter of John, Jesus said, “The Heavenly Father loves you as much as He loves His son Jesus”. John 17:19-23

In John chapter 3:1-21, Jesus told a religious leader that we must be born again to receive eternal life. If we are not born again we do not have eternal life. Then in John chapter 4:21-24. Jesus said, “God is a spirit and He is looking for people to worship Him in spirit and in truth”

And on the night of the Last Supper, Jesus said, “ When He goes home to Heaven, He and the Father are going to send the Holy Spirit back to earth to live in us when we become born again. The person of the Holy Spirit, that will be living in us, will guide, lead and teach us”.

Dear friend, this is the GREAT NEWS for you. You have all of this very exciting information right at your fingertips, right there, in your own Bible.

Can you say WOW with us? You can recieve eternal live and begin your personal relationship with God right now. You can develop your progressive growth by choosing to start reading your Bible daily and learning how you pray the way Jesus taught the disciples how to pray during the Last Supper. Jesus gave instructions on how to pray in the Gospel of John in chapter 14:13-16 and chapter 15:16.

God Himself, invites us in the New Testament, in the book of Hebrews, to come boldly to the throne of grace.  Jesus taught that now, we as a individual, when we become born-again, have direct access to our Heavenly Father in Jesus' name.

God truly wants a personal relationship with you.

We are going to share with you how to become born-again, the Biblical way and then you can have the confidence that when it is your time to die, that you will already know that you have eternal life, and that you would immediately go to be with the Heavenly Father and Jesus your Lord and Savior in Heaven.

This will be your first Bible Study.

Please search your heart sincerely, then check or write down your best answer to these questions.

1.  Do you believe all have sinned against God and need to be
      saved?   YES _____ NO _____

 2.  Do you DOUBT _____,  THINK _____ or KNOW _____ that you
NOW have eternal life and are on your way to Heaven?

 3.  EXACTLY, what, are you trusting, FOR YOUR salvation to pay for
your sins, to get to Heaven?

      A.  HUMAN EFFORT,                 YES           NO

           “Living a good life”                 ___            ___

           “Good works, deeds”             ___            ___

           “Church membership”            ___            ___

      A.  HUMAN EFFORTS ___

      B.     OTHER ___________

(Example: 50/50,  70/30, 100/0 etc.)

Now check you’re above answers with the following scriptures.

# 1.  Most people answer question 1, “YES”,  This is correct
        because God’s Word says;

For ALL have sinned and come short of the glory of God. The Wages of sin is DEATH (Separation from God NOW and FOREVER)  (Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:5 and Revelation 20:14, 21:8)

Who have sinned against God and need to be saved from DEATH?

Some people ___, Most people ___, or, everyone including yourself ___?

# 2.  Most people answer question 2 “THINK”, but here
is some GOOD NEWS! God says:

These things (promises) I have WRITTEN unto you -
that you may KNOW, that you have eternal life.

   (1 John 5:13)

Does God intend for you to KNOW that you have eternal life?
YES ___  NO ___

What has God provided so that you may know that you have eternal life?  Your feelings____ or, His written Word, the Bible ____.

#3.  Most people answer question 3 “YES”.  They are
trusting in their own HUMAN EFFORTS to help
        EARN their salvation.

        God’s Word says;

All our righteousness (human efforts to earn
salvation) are as FILTHY RAGS. (Isaiah 64:6)

Do you know WHY God sees our human efforts, good works, etc., for salvation as “filthy rags”?
YES ____  NO ____  It is because His Word says:

Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures.

(1 Corinthians 15:3-4)

THEREFORE, when we try to earn our salvation, we are actually REJECTING Christ’s death and shed blood, which has ALREADY PAID for our sins and given us salvation 100%.  Review the book of Hebrews chapter 7.

Should we REJECT His payment for our sins and try to earn our own salvation?  YES ____ NO  ____

LET’S SEE HOW GOD SAYS WE ARE SAVED:

For by GRACE (mercy) are you saved, through FAITH and that not of yourselves.  It is the gift of God, NOT of WORKS, lest any person should boast.  (Epesians 2:8-9)

Do you know what GRACE means?  YES ____   NO ____

Grace means, Mercy which we do not deserve, which is, the opposite of judgment, which we do deserve.

Can you work for a GIFT?   YES ____   NO ____

How do we get God’s GIFT of salvation?  Accept it by faith ____ or earn it by doing good works ____.

W
HERE DO WORKS FIT INTO GOD’S PLAN?

Good works SHOULD FOLLOW or be the result of your salvation, which is, becomining born-again, (Ephesians 2:10)  They should be a thank you to God for His GIFT of salvation.  (Eternal life)

CAN HUMAN EFFORTS HELP EARN YOUR SALVATION?

YES ____  NO ____ PARTLY ____

# 4.  Most people answer question #4 that they are NOT
trusting Jesus Christ ALONE (100%) for their eternal
         life.

Please notice what your Bible says:

And this is the record, that God has given to us eternal life, and this life is in His SON.  He that has the Son of God (Christ) has eternal life, and he that has not the SON of God (Christ) does NOT have eternal life.  (1 John 5:11-12 alsoJohn 14:6)

Exactly, WHO MUST YOU HAVE as Savior in order to have eternal life?
Underline the answer in the above verse.

What % of your trust for your eternal life SHOULD be placed in human efforts?  ______  in Christ  ____

NOW, let’s see HOW you can have eternal life in Jesus Christ and KNOW it with PROOF.

He that BELIEVES ON (trust in, depends on) the Son HAS EVERLASTING LIFE (immediate possession) and he that believes not the Son shall not see eternal life but, the WRATH of God abides on him.  (John 3:36 also Romans 10:9-10)

What will you have if you BELIEVE ON (trust in, depend on) Christ 100%?  (Underline the answer above)

What do you have without Christ?  (Underline that also)

What is your response to Christ now?

Do you realize the Lord Jesus Christ died for your sins and rose again on the third day?  YES ____  NO ____

Will you place all your TRUST (100%) in the Lord Jesus Christ for your salvation right now?  YES ____  NO ____

Which do you NOW possess?  Everlasting life ____ or, God’s wrath ____ and HOW DO YOU KNOW?  (See John 3:36 above)

Which are you now trusting for your salvation?  Your human efforts ____, Christ ____  or both ____?

If you said I trust Jesus 100% for my salvation take time now to thank Him and write this date down so that you will not forget this very important date.
Date ___________,  Signed ___________________

If you are still not able to trust Jesus 100% yet, then we suggest reading all of the Gospel of John and the book of Acts to get a deeper understanding of how much God loves you and the indescribable price Jesus paid for you on the cross so that you could spend forever in Heaven with Himself and our Heavenly Father.
